I am a therapist and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with clinical experience in the Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Disability field.
My professional journey includes working in both public and private sectors, supporting young people, adults, and families through community mental health services (clinical outpatient settings), early intervention programs, alcohol and other drug services, and within the NDIS sector.
I have experience assisting clients with challenges such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-stress-related issues, substance and non-substance-related addictive disorders, physical health issues, relationship and low self-esteem problems, LGBTIQA+ and minority stress-related issues.
I OFFER COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY TO PEOPLE TO ADDRESS COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL & BEHAVIOURAL FACTORS RELATED TO ANXIETY DISORDERS, DEPRESSION, SUBSTANCE USE PROBLEMS, BEHAVIOURAL OR PROCESS ADDICTIONS, TRAUMA-STRESS RELATED ISSUES, AND PHYSICAL HEALTH PROBLEMS
Our mission is to provide counselling and psychotherapy to people struggling with the following issues:

(chronic pain, cardiovascular issues and diabetes)
My passion for working within the mental health and addiction field has been ignited by my own journey of self-development and inspired by the amazing recovery journeys of other people.
This passion and inspiration have fuelled my professional and personal values, such as my commitment to work from a harm reduction, trauma-informed and recovery model lens, striving to reduce stigma and support recovery from mental health and addiction problems. These values are grounded in the recognition of the following essential contributing factors for solid recovery journeys:
At ERTC – Eric Rangel Therapy & Consulting, we provide evidence-based counselling and psychotherapy in Sydney for adults and young adults (18 years or older) experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship issues, adjustments to health conditions including chronic pain, or challenges with substance use and behavioural addictions.
We offer LGBTQIA+-affirming, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented therapy integrating CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based modalities.
Sessions are available in English and Portuguese through our Randwick office (Fridays), Bondi Junction office (Tuesdays), and Telehealth Clinic (Mon, Wed, Thu).
I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to explore how past experiences related to attachment styles, trauma and unmet needs interact to shape an individual’s coping styles and behaviours.
My goal is to help build resilience, enhance self-efficacy, and achieve overall well-being through sustainable behavioural change.
I practice from an integrative approach to psychotherapy, drawing from the following treatment models, psychotherapy modalities and approaches
Trauma-informed Care is an approach to care that ensures that all interactions and therapies are conducted with an awareness of the potential impact of trauma. This approach aims to foster an environment of safety, trust, and empowerment, essential for clients dealing with anxiety, depressive disorders, and substance use issues. It emphasises physical, psychological, and emotional safety, helping clients to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment over their lives.
